    October 1-2 – Fifth Annual IO Combinations 360°

    The 5th annual IO Combinations 360° is dedicated to fulfilling its mission to address clinical developments, scientific data and business aspects in IO combination strategies. The rapid advancement in our understanding of human cancer immunity and immunotherapy combinations is nearly impossible for individual scientists to comprehend. Only together, as an engaged and interactive scientific community, can we hope to enable a patient’s immune system to eradicate cancer.

    October 9 – Musculoskeletal Tumor Society 2020 Annual Meeting

    In this three-hour session, delivered live via webinar, Sarah Wiskerchen, MBA, CPC will cover

    • E/M “1.0” – Recap of E/M level and category criteria that apply in 2020, and will still be used for selected E/M services in 2021
    • E/M “2.0” – In depth review of E/M criteria changes that will apply in 2021
    • Comparison of 2020 and 2021 E/M coding systems using musculoskeletal tumor examples

    The session includes a resource workbook that will be shipped to registrants in advance of the webinar.  This live session includes interactive time for questions and answers. $25 fee for nonmembers, free for members.

    October 13 – Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day

    Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day was proclaimed on a NATIONAL level. This movement continues to spread – with Canada and some European countries also recognizing their metastatic population with similar proclamations.

    October 16 – National Mammography Day

    The third Friday in October each year is National Mammography Day, first proclaimed by President Clinton in 1993. On this day, or throughout the month, women are encouraged to make a mammography appointment.

    October 23-24 – 32nd Annual Fall Foliage Cancer Conference

    This two day conference is designed to give the practicing physician and allied health providers a review of the current treatment management for genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers. Physicians, distinguished as teachers and oncologists, will share their knowledge and experience. The conference is co-sponsored by Community Cancer Education Inc. (21st Century CARE) and Charlotte AHEC

    October 25 – American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Meeting

    Attendees will enter the ASTRO 2020 Annual Meeting through the virtual doors of the Miami Convention Center, you will notice our show look and advertising from our amazing ambassadors and exhibitors. You will have access to the full Annual Meeting program, which includes Live SA-CME opportunities and engaging education and scientific sessions, many with a live Q&A component. We are excited to showcase some new educational offerings this year, including Master Classes and Storytelling. Daily Cancer Breakthroughs sessions will offer key science from other cancer societies, many of which were unable to hold their Annual Meetings this year.

    October 25-28 – Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators 37th Annual Meeting

    Our theme this year is Navigating the Future, and given the current situation it has never been more relevant.  The meeting will take place October 26-30, 2020 and will include half-day blocks of content and networking opportunities.
